In l985, Seaton was appointed by California’s Governor as the lottery’s first public affairs director. His myriad duties included creating the TV network for the The Big Spin Show and presenting multi-million dollar checks to winners on camera. The San Diego Press Club named him a “Headliner of the Year” for his role in helping promote the Lottery to record heights.

A Little League manager for 14 years, Bill, father of four, grandfather of five, boasts that he once coached Yankee-Padres star pitcher David Wells.

Seaton’s first book, Humorous Letters from the Edge, won an award in the Best Memoirs category from the San Diego Book Awards. It was endorsed by TV personalities Phyllis Diller and Arte Johnson.

Seaton’s writing career began as a Navy Journalist right after World War II. His first civilian job was as a sports writer and columnist for a large Midwestern newspaper. He then became a reporter/editor for the Navy Times newspaper in Washington, D.C. His first public relations job was with the National Association of Realtors in the Capitol City before coming to California “in search of swaying palms and lots of white sand.”
